| A youthful Boro' second
string lost out to their more experienced Conference
League opponents in this Capital League game at
The Aimita Stadium.
Deprived of any players from the 1st XI squad
Boro' more than held their own during an entertaining
45 minutes. Their hosts, however, opened their
account on 32 minutes when the highly experience
Joss Vansittart scored from close range.
Farnborough came out for the second half much
sharper and increase their lead on 47 minutes
when Vansittart head home powerfully a left wing
cross. It was 3-0 3 minutes later when from a
considerable distance Referee Roy Pardoe adjudged
Vansittart to have been fouled in the box. Dean
Green scored from the penalty spot.
Further goals came for the home side in the 65
minute when defender O'Shea headed home powerfully
and in the 78th minute when Vansittart completed
his hattrick with the simplest of tap ins.
Overall Boro' should not be downhearted with
this defeat against a more experienced opposition.
There were several good performances with Brockett
and Leon Clarke being particularly impressive.
