| Boro' manager
Edwin Stein used 21 players
for this lively pre-season friendly
visit to neighbours Edgware
Town.
The game was settled in a 3
minute 1st half burst starting
in the 20th minute when Boro'
opened the scoring through new
signing Steve Dogbe from Chesham
United after Abdul Yoki squared
the ball back across the face
of the goal. The Edgware equaliser
came 3 minutes later when a
shot from the impressive Alistair
Heselton was deflected past
the wrong-footed David Hook.
In truth Boro' always had the
edge in this competitive encounter
against a lively Edgware side,
but the hosts threatened on
the break and Michael Burger
on debut for David Hook in the
second half had to be on his
guard as the home side threatened
the much changed Boro' back
line with pace.
David Norton forced a brilliant
block from the home custodian
in the opening period but on
the whole Boro's finishing let
them down despite exerting considerable
pressure on occasions. |
