| Boro' manager
Edwin Stein used 19 players
in this away victory in the
great heat at Ware's impressive
Wodson Park on Saturday.
Goalkeeper Matthew Ferguson
came in for his first 1st XI
outing of the pre season build-up.
Boro' started strongly and
took the lead in the 12th minute.
Good work by Abdulai Yoki and
Daniel Dyer down the right flant
saw the latter put over a pin
point cross for WAYNE WALTERS
to score.
It was 2-0 10 minutes later
when Clemente Lopez and Kevin
McKenna combined on the left
to set up ABDULAI YOKI who hammered
the ball home from 10 yards.
Ross Fitzsimon shot over when
well placed.
After 35 minutes the home side
reduced the arrears after a
poor pass by Fitzsimon allowed
Bridge to venture into the Boro'
penalty area where he was bundled
over by a despairing Godfrey
Torto. JOHN FRENDO made no mistake
with the spot kick.
As the half developed Boro'
played some delightful football
and it was from one of these
sorties after 43 minutes that
Yoki and Lopez combined to provide
PAT GAVIN with the opportunity
to restore the two goal lead
and the striker made no mistake
with his right foot shot.
The second half started with
Boro' on the attack but it was
the home side who were to draw
first blood, when on 57 minutes
a looping header from DAVE GREENWOOD
was missed by Boro' custodian
Matthew Ferguson, who claimed
that he lost the ball in the
sun, and dropped over his head
into the back of the net.
Moments later and as Ware pressed
for the equaliser Ferguson made
amends for his error with a
brilliant save from Greenwood,
however it was the home defence
who were kept the busier as
Boro' sought to finish the game
as they had started.
