Robert
Charles backheels the
ball past Bullivant for
the opening goal. |

| With
Keita Karamoko suspended for
the upcoming FA Cup-tie, James
Jackson, signed from Maidenhead,
made his debut in goal. Stuart
Elliott and Ross Fitzsimon returned
from suspension and Osman Hasan
got a start on the left side
of midfield.
Fitzsimon forced home keeper
Bullivant to scramble back to
claw away his first minute lob,
but little happened until Hasan
livened proceedings after 15
minutes with a deflected shot
that Bullivant tipped over.
Harrow went in front after
16 minutes. David Ocquaye held
off a couple of defenders and
won a free-kick 25 yards out.
Danny Moore’s effort went
past the wall and Bullivant
was unable to hold on to it.
Robert Charles worked the ball
away from the prostrate keeper
and scored with a clever back-heel
past a defender on the line.
Good defending by Perry Norman,
who limped off later in the
half, quelled a Northwood move
involving Metcalfe and Yeoman,
but there was little threat
of an equaliser from the hosts
for the rest of the half and,
frankly, little threat of a
second Harrow goal either.
Jackson was called into action
twice in the early minutes of
the second period and as the
half went on, Northwood began
to take control. Ex-Borough
man Knight shot wide after a
poor Danny Moore header, and
Wayne Walters got in the way
of another home effort.
In a rare Harrow break, Charles
was off target with a flying
shot from Hasan’s through
ball after 68 minutes, but it
was Northwood who equalised
after 70 minutes. A low cross
from the right was turned past
his own keeper by Walters, not
a happy way for him to celebrate
being made captain for the night.
On came Sargent for Northwood
after 72 minutes and within
two minutes he had put the home
side in front, turning in a
left wing cross from close-range,
with question marks over Jackson’s
failure to intercept. Three
more minutes passed and it was
3-1. Once again a hard low cross
came in, this time from Moore,
and Dean Marney appeared to
get the final touch for another
own-goal.
Simon Underwood missed a fine
chance to pull a goal back,
firing over from 4 yards after
a corner was nodded down, and
Charles had a late effort saved
by Bullivant, but the damage
had been done.
