Team Manager David Howell provides an update on the squad
Leon Morris and Jamie Diston have joined Kingsbury for some valuable first team football but will stay be available to play in the Capital League for Peter Grant in the Reserves.

Jason Haniff has been released and has joined Ryman League Division One side Molesey.

I would like to confirm that the club have received an official Seven Day approach from Heybridge Swifts for Elliot Onochie.

I have spoken to both Elliot and Brian Statham (Heybridge Manager).

The midweek victory against Bromley was only the first part of a two match programme we face which concludes on Saturday away to Margate. Both these teams are in close proximity to us in the league and it was important that we picked up three points to go in to Saturday's match.

I thought we started against Bromley really well as I was concerned about our attacking performance against Fisher a few days earlier. We decided to throw caution to the wind and with both full backs getting forward to lend support to Elliot and Benty we could been four goals up in the first 15 minutes.

However we did not convert any of our many chances and came in at half time a little bit concerned at the 0-0 score line.

I don't think we played as well in the second half but we scored two important goals through James Bent and Elliot Onochie which secured our victory and I was also pleased that we managed to keep a clean sheet something we have not managed to do since our 1-0 victory against Braintree at Earlsmead ten matches ago...

Importantly we came through without any further injuries but I still had to use my players sparingly.

The likes of Ross Fitzsimon, Romain Le Roux and Danny Leech are still a little way off match fitness but it will take time until they are fully firing again...

Marvin Neufville and Daniel Dyer are improving but the long trip to Margate might be too early for both of them.

Margate have made several signings in the last few weeks including goal scoring Danny Hockton (Billericay) Scott Forbes (Bishop Stortford) and much travelled striker Bertie Brayley.

They are a strong organised team and have recently beaten the likes of Hendon and Hampton and have also conceded less goals than any of the teams outside the top ten.

Following our away trip to Margate on Saturday our next match at Earlsmead will be on Tuesday 31st January v Staines in the quarter final of the Middlesex Senior Cup.

Staines Manager Steve Courdroy gave me some further information on Margate as they have recently played them but he wouldn't divulge any information on his line up for Tuesday match....(smile)
