The following message was sent to David Howell, and we felt that all should have the chance to read it:
Hello David
I’m Robin Shroot’s mother.
I have long wanted to write and thank you for all that you personally, and Harrow Borough, have done for Robin.
You motivated and inspired him beyond measure.
Robin never says he feels negative or downcast but he must have found it all very difficult through last season and the summer, and then to be injured as well! So I can't thank you enough for your generosity of spirit in taking him on and letting him go, your faith and confidence in his abilities and your liking for him, all of which increased his motivation and self belief and enabled him to show his true colours when that was necessary to impress Birmingham City.
I felt very emotional watching him come on to the pitch last Tuesday evening for his debut and it was glorious to see him playing so well and keeping so calm.
Thank you – Vic and I will be eternally grateful for all your help and support for Robin.
