Harrow Borough made it two wins out of three in this season's Capital
league, and completed a successful double victory midweekfor the
club, with this closely fought triumph at Croydon Sports Arena last
Wednesday.
After
taking some time to settle into a pattern, the visitors forced a
series of corners, when Kelechi Duru's cross-shot was cleared off
the line. His corners then saw three headers from Forbes and another
from Gusavac go just off target.
Good
work from Grant Smith ended with his long range effort forcing a
good save and Archer shot just over, as Boro' finished the half
strongly. The second half followed much the same pattern, so it
was no great surprise when the hosts took a 72 minute lead, through
McDONNELL's 30 yard chip shot. Parity was soon restored, when Forbes
sent a high lob goalwards, 2 minutes later, and in a similar situation
to Hakan Sukur's Euro 2000 goal for Turkey v Belgium, Oliver PETERSEN
rose to head over the onrushing 'keeper.
Small-King
and Willock went close before Boro' netted an 83 minute winner.
A forceful and skilful run by Aaron ARCHER ended with the 'keeper
blocking his shot, only for the ball to then find three Boro' strikers
goal side of the custodian, with Archer netting.
